The Fidelity Apartments & Fidelity Savings Building renovation

2319-2323 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley, CA

The Fidelity is a five-story mixed-use residential and commercial building located at 2319 Shattuck Avenue.  It creates 15 apartment units and some retail and office spaces on the ground floor.  Unlike other recent mixed-use developments in downtown Berkeley, there are 12 family-size, two-bedroom residences from 825 to 1,300 sq. ft. and 3 studios.

The ground floor provides approximately 2,600 sq. ft. of retail and office space, in which each includes a mezzanine level.

There is a landscaped public court and walkway to access the offices and the residential lobby. Ground floor open space is part of an urban design effort to add interesting public open space into the downtown.  The roof deck provides additional open space and panoramic views of the bay.

This project was the second phase of a two-phase project at the site.  The first phase converted the adjacent historic Fidelity Savings Building from a bank into a full service restaurant with one residential unit in the building's rear three-story portion.
